Kindergarten ~ Ms Deanna Forry
Welcome to the Kindergarten homepage!
I am Ms Deanna Forry. I grew up in the Springfield area and attended St. Raphael School and Springfield High School. I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Augustana College. I taught multiple grades, K-3rd, at Minnesinnakhgang Charter School on the Ojibway Reservation for 3 years and worked in special education at McGregor Elementary School. I look forward to being back in my hometown area and teaching your children.
- Kindergarten students will have a reading goal each month to work toward. I recommend about 10 minutes per night, most nights! If the student reaches their monthly goal, they will get a certificate and a little prize from Mrs. Steffl!
- Kindergarten students will also be expected to work on their "star words" (high frequency words) which will be affixed in their folder with velcro. I will test them for mastery several times a week! Flashcards will be sent home with each new batch.
- Math worksheets/activities will also be sent home about once a week. (Sometimes more or less than once a week depending on what we are working on.) These need to be returned the next day.
- Books that we have made in class will also be sent home for sharing with families. They are to be read and returned as soon as possible.
